I brought him 3 shoes in various degrees of disrepair—sole splitting, sole gluing, and sole replacement—and he outlined my options and walked me through the repair process, helping me understand what needed fixing, why, and how repeat repairs could be avoided in future. Vartan brought two pairs of my shoes back to life! I had the zippers on my Doc Martens replaced, new half-soles and heels put on a pair of wingtips, and patches on the inner heel of both pairs. My shoes are about as close to new as they can get and I’m excited to be able to get another few years out of them! Bonus: the total cost for both repairs was far less than replacing just the Doc Martens on their own.
