So Far so Good - Worth the Drive Down Major Mac
I am very happy I've found this place! It's a 20 minutes drive in traffic from my office but it's worth it. And yes, you do have to pre-pay here.
I am now writing this review after picking up my designer shoes after being re-soled. The repairs looked fantastic! The edges of the new sole weren't perfectly trimmed and I understand that's because I didn't bring these shoes in before wearing them for the first time. The trimming would have been perfect if he didn't have to try and trim it such that the wear and tear on the edges may be covered.
I initially found this place with decent reviews so I took a few of my lower cost shoes for repair to test out and the results were good enough that I decided to bring in my designer shoes. I had two pairs of suede pumps where the suede has started to tear on the edges and the owner reviewed my options with me and was honest that there is limited work that may be done. I took his recommendations and now am getting additional wears out of my favorite work pumps.
I then brought him another pair of old, squeaky nine west shoes for repair. He provided me a quote and said he will try his best to identify the source of the squeak. When I picked it up, the squeak was gone and he said if it starts squeaking again when I actually wear it, bring it back and he will try again at no charge.
My interactions with the owner and his staff have been great so far and I find the owner to be very honest. The store itself is clean, including the open work space so I know my beautiful shoes won't pick up any dirt during the repair process.
